D.J. Mullins, rider of Lockeen Girl trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran too free and pulled up
The Stewards interviewed Mr E.P. Keating, rider of War Of The Pennys, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. E.P. Keating was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b) the unnecessary hitting of a horse after its chance of winning or being placed is clearly gone. Having taken his previous record into account, the Stewards cautioned Mr. E.P. Keating.
