Permission was given for Gherkin (GB) to wear a red hood to post and be mounted on the chute.
The raceday privilege request for The Defiant (GB), trained by Daniel Steele, to wear a red hood to post was not submitted.
Steele was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
The winner, The Daley Express (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Windsor on 6 June 2022 where the gelding finished last of eleven, beaten by 11 ¼ lengths.
It was noted that Ronald Harris could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
The Daley Express (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Richard Kingscote reported that Gherkin (GB), placed fifth, anticipated the start and as a result was slowly away, Mollie Phillips reported that Eastern Star (IRE), placed sixth, was slowly away and hung badly right-handed and Ray Dawson reported that My Joker (IRE), placed third, hung right- handed from approximately 1 1/2 furlongs out.
