An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Fiji (GB), ridden by Jamie Spencer, La Foglietta (GB), placed third, ridden by Richard Kingscote, and Lordofthehorizon (FR), placed second, ridden by Kieran O’Neill.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Fiji (GB)’s placing as the colt always appeared to be holding Lordofthehorizon (FR) with the official distance between the runners at the line 2 ¾ lengths.
The interference was found to be accidental as Spencer edged marginally left, as Kingscote shifted slightly right, causing O’Neill to a check and switch left resulting in Lordofthehorizon (FR) clipping heels.
