The Stewards requested a report from P.D. Deegan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Three Majors, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last few starts on ground softer than ideal. He added that the return to a quicker surface, the application of cheekpieces and a more prominent ride were all factors that may have contributed to the return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
