Approaching the final furlong, Solesmes (GB), placed fifth, dived sharply left, interfering with Thegreyvtrain (GB), placed sixth, who was carried onto the winner, Gilt Edge (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Lorna Cole (IRE), placed second, lost her right hind shoe.
