Permission was given for Symbol of Hope (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to the start wearing a red hood.
Leaving the stalls, Symbol of Hope (GB), placed third, jumped left-handed at the same time as Iconic Knight, placed fifth, jumped right-handed causing Liberty Bay (GB), placed sixth, to be crowded for room causing the filly to be slow into its stride, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of Symbol of Hope (GB).
