Inside the final 2 furlongs, Prophesise (IRE), placed second, shifted quickly left-handed giving a slight bump to the winner Clan Jock (IRE), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider two pieces of interference inside the final two furlongs involving Jack Yeats (IRE), placed third, ridden by Paul Mulrennan and Prophesise (IRE), placed second, ridden by David Allan.
In the first incident approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Mulrennan was cautioned for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting left-handed and making slight contact with Prophesise (IRE) taking it slightly off its intended line.
In the second incident inside the final furlong, Prophesise (IRE) had edged right-handed interfering with Jack Yeats (IRE), the interference was found to be accidental as Allan had taken all reasonable steps to correct his mount.
The performance of I’M TO BLAME (IRE), which finished sixth, beaten 18¾ lengths, was considered.
The representative of Keith Dalgleish could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing of I’M TO BLAME (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Laura Coughlan reported that Francisco Bay (GB), placed fourth, missed the break.
