Permission was given for Valirann Gold (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend approaching the sixth fence involving Hector Master (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Derek Fox and Royal Act (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tabitha Worsley.
The interference was found to be accidental as Royal Act (GB) had jumped the previous fence slowly and lost its position to the inside of Hector Master (FR), which was left several lengths clear before Worsley had ridden her mount forward in an attempt to regain that position as the field rounded the bend and subsequently was badly hampered when tightened for racing room after the rail configuration had contributed to her becoming very awkwardly placed to the inside of Hector Master (FR) which appeared to maintain its racing line to her outside.
At the sixth fence, Abaya Du Mathan (FR), which was later pulled up, jumped left-handed, giving a significant bump to Hector Master (FR), placed fourth, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Bryan Carver reported that Abaya Du Mathan (FR), which was pulled up, hung badly left-handed.
