I was delighted with him; he's a very green horse and it's a lot to ask first time out from a wide draw. Pat did really well to get a good position on him, and when he was challenged he tries really hard. There is a lot of improvement in him; he's a typical Aga Khan horse as he's lazy at home but he did well to rally back.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that D. O'Brien, rider of Irish Minister (USA), had weighed in at 1.2lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was tight with his weight when weighing out and he had taken a small quantity of fluids before riding
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D. O'Brien was in breach of Rule 231. Having taken his previous record into consideration the Stewards cautioned D. O'Brien
S. Foley, rider of Bye Bye Brussels trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount changed legs in the final furlong of this race.
