the horses were a bit in and out of form all over the winter but they all seem to be bouncing back now. He's a good horse and he works well at home, it's nice to get his head in front. I also had Ahundrednotout for Patrick (Gallagher, owner) and he won here around this time last year. That's two horses I've had for him now and both have won. Hopefully this lad can kick on now. He's back in on Wednesday and hopefully he comes out of this alright. He'll have a morning down at the beach to cool his legs and hopefully he can go again. Leanne Breen, trainer

The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Woodrow, trained by Leanne Breen, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that her yard had been under a cloud since December and a couple of recent runners had shown a return to form. In relation to Woodrow, she explained that this gelding had disappointed the last day when finishing 13th of 14 runners and in her opinion appeared to be distressed and blowing hard post race. A few days later blood samples were taken from this gelding which revealed an abnormal blood cell count. She added that her horses in general were scoping wrong and showing poor blood results but she had continued to run them. She accepted that she had failed to report at the first instance the blood results of Woodrow to the I.H.R.B as required by Rule 213. She further added that Woodrow had worked well here recently and she was satisfied to omit the tongue strap for today's run. On the question of strong betting support, she confirmed to the Stewards that she had advised the owner of the animals well being before tonights run. Evidence was also heard from Mr G. O'Gorman, Rules of Racing Senior Handicapper. Having considered the evidence the Stewards referred the matter to the Referrals Committee.

An extended handicap for four years old and upwards rated 45-65
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 7lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
