< Mount Colah landed the spoils in an eventful renewal of the Thurles Racecourse Supporters Club Chase.
Jerry Cosgrave's stable star took closer order on the second circuit and looked to have the race at his mercy when his main challenger Arnaud fell at the penultimate fence.
The 9-10 favourite nearly threw it away himself when blundering badly at the final flight but managed to hold on to score by one and three-quarter lengths from Letter Of Credit
Willie Mullins looks to have another potential festival challenger with Roi Des Francs (6-4) who got the better of odds-on favourite Venitien De Mai in the thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.
The six-year-old was making his first start for the champion trainer after landing a bumper and looks a smart recruit on the evidence of his five-and-a-half-length victory.
The Master of Closutton ended the card with success after a clever ride from Patrick Mullins ensured Honeys Joy (8-1) got the pick of the ground to win the Holycross Mares INH Flat Race by eight lengths .
That wasn't the only enterprising ride of the day, though, as Ricky Doyle gave Zipporah (7-1) a belter in the Horse & Jockey Handicap Hurdle.
The 7lb conditional quickly extended a clear advantage on his front-runner and overcame some weary jumping late on to score by 14 lengths.< Glen Ode (7-2) was another impressive winner when barely coming off the bridle in the Thurles Racecourse Handicap Chase.
The former point winner wasn't foot perfect with his jumping but was value for much more than his one-and-three-quarter-length victory suggests.
That sparked a double for John Walsh as Hard Bought (6-1) showed a gutsy attitude to concede weight to his rivals and win by a head in the Munster Handicap Hurdle.< I'm All You Need built on the promise she showed when finishing second last time with victory in the opening I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle.
The 7-2 chance sat prominent throughout before asserting in the closing stages to pull four lengths clear of the runner-up He's Our Robin.
