Owner Paddy Woods was successful on his own horse Dalileo in the final leg of the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series, with the 5/2 favourite coming home eleven lengths in front of Aussie Valentine and Stephen Thorne.
Woods had won on the same horse at Cork in September, so this second triumph clinched overall victory in the Series for the popular businessman, who rides out his own horses at Johnny Murtagh’s Curragh yard as often as possible.
The winning Galileo four-year-old won three races when trained by Mark Johnston, and had been placed at Listowel and Dundalk in between his two wins in the Corinthian Series, in which the participating riders raise money for the Irish Injured Jockeys’ Fund.
