The Dermot McLoughlin trained Wither Hills defied top weight to claim his maiden chase win in the New Tote Mobile Betting Site At thetote.com Handicap Chase at Tramore today.
Jockey Conor Maxwell moved the son of Karinga Bay to the front when sneaking up the inner on the approach to the final fence and in the end the pair recorded a two lengths win over Ballyfinboy
McLoughlin, whose Vics Canvas finished third recently in the Aintree Grand National, later stated “he was unlucky at Kilbeggan on Friday night when he just got tight for room and he's a grand horse and is still doing the business at ten.
“He loved the ground, jumped well and it was bad race. The ground is the key to him, he loves it around Dundalk so wants firm and he got it there. He'll get a bit of a break now and then we will mix it with him.
"He is owned by Alan Smith from Swords. He owns the company justlite.com, they provide stage lighting at events."
Wither Hills is now the winner of eight races, having won three hurdles, four flat races and today's chase.
