Chatterton picked a fine day to belatedly lose his maiden status at Dundalk this evening, proving the well backed winner of the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap, winning for trainer Paul Flynn and jockey Shane Foley.
The son of Excellent Art was a beaten favourite on his latest start at the venue in April and prior to that was again favourite but was withdrawn having broken out through starting stalls.
Today, Chatterton was having his 16th start but rewarded those who backed him from 6/1 this morning in to 3/1 second favourite.
Flynn later stated "he's been unlucky here a few times and we were a bit more positive with him today.
"Shane (Foley) said 1m1f around here would suit him perfectly but I'm not sure if he'd get 1m2f though.
"I think he'll be better on turf and if he stays in this bracket hopefully he can go in again somewhere."
