Walsh on the mark with another well-backed winner
Following on from the success of the well-backed Stony Grey Soil yesterday, John Joe Walsh struck again at his local track when Rory Anna (8/1 in the morning into 3/1) followed up a Limerick hurdling win in the Mallow Town Summer BBQ Evening July 9th Handicap (the stable had a one two with Surrey Spinner & Diamond Shower in this contest twelve months ago).
Chris Hayes led aboard the daughter of Viking Ruler a furlong and a half out and she stayed on well to beat Art Broker (Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen's third second of the day, they also had a winner with Legendary Lad by a length and a half.
Walsh commented: "We had two winners at the Easter Festival last year so we're delighted to have the same again. We'll mix-it with her and she loves the soft ground. She'll go for another handicap next. The owner, Una Fitzpatrick is from Kanturk and that's the filly's third win for her."
