The Tom McCourt trained Blue Vic landed the Barclay IT Services Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal today, scoring an all-out win under five pounds claimer Tim Carroll.

Carroll moved the son of Old Vic to the front at the third last before staying on well under pressure to eventually hold the fast-finishing challenge of Sir Ector

McCourt later said “he ran well in Sligo the last day and loves the quick ground. He was in front soon enough today but jumped his way into it.

“He is a big horse, liked that galloping track and will go for something similar next.
