Yeoman won his first race over fences when annexing the Renvyle House Hotel Handicap Chase under Adrian Heskin at Galway.
A bad mistake late did little to help the runner-up, Venture Lazarus and two lengths separated the pair at the line.
Twice a winner over hurdles, the victorious French-bred is an eleven-year-old now and his trainer, David Ryan, of course based in the locality, near Tuam was relieved saying: "If ever a horse was due one it was him.
"I thought he might need the run but he did it well. He'll go to Limerick now for a handicap chase on November 12th. He'll mix it and he is still well-enough handicapped over hurdles. We'll take whatever we can with him at this stage." (TW & EM)
