Four winners at Leopardstown to go with an Ascot success for Kyprios made for a fine Saturday afternoon for Aidan O'Brien, topped off by a 1-2-3 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden, the penultimate event at the Foxrock venue.
Confident in the capabilities of newcomer Twain Mark Crehan sent him for home from some way out.
The 28/1 chance was soon gone beyond recall on his way to a six length and a head defeat of his Ballydoyle stable companions, Mississippi River (9/2) and Serengeti (15/8 favourite).
Representing winning connections Chris Armstrong said:- “He jumped smart, landed out in front and made every post a winning one.
“He gave him a very positive ride and Mark felt he was doing it easy, within himself, which is a good sign. It looked like a pretty good maiden.
“I'm not sure if we'll get him out again before the end of the year. He's a lovely horse to look forward to for next year, to bring him back for a Guineas trial.
“He's a lovely stamp of a horse and another exciting one by Wootton Bassett.”
