Thunder making presence felt for McCann
Tropic Thunder races on under Conor McGovern

With two wins in as many starts for Anthony McCann over Dundalk's extended ten furlongs, Tropic Thunder has been a great buy for Rita Shah, his latest success coming in the second split of the Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Handicap.
Fellow Monaghan man and employee of the McCann yard, Conor McGovern was patient and confident aboard the Lope de Vega gelding.
He could even afford to briefly get impeded when coming with his run up the straight and still beat Asian Wing by a length and three parts.
"He's not long in the yard. His first run for us was a few weeks ago and he did it well," said McGovern on the winner (15/8 favourite).
"He does things well at home. The main thing with him is not to panic and keep him relaxed.
"A lot of it is timing with him and not to get there too soon, just guide him into it.
"We're happy with the way he is going and he wasn't a very dear horse so he's paid for himself. Hopefully there'll be another race for him down the line and we'll have a bit of fun with him for the rest of the winter."
