Steinbeck a star in the making
Aidan O'Brien introduced a very promising 2-y-o colt in Steinbeck at Naas this evening.
The son of Footstepsinthesand made virtually all the running on his debut to defeat previous winner Gold Bubbles by a comfortable 2 1/2 lengths.
Winning rider Johnny Murtagh said: "he is a horse I like, he has a great engine and is very straightforward. He ran a bit green when he hit the front, but that was understandable. He has a chance of being a good horse."
Aidan O'Brien, speaking on the phone after the race said: "He was ready to come to the races and is a horse to look forward to."
Aidan would not be tied down to plans for the colt, but did not rule out a tilt at the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
