Course and distance winner Johnny Lynch is obviously ground versatile and he followed up his victory at Tipperary from the start of last month when bringing up a double in as many races for Pat Smullen in the Pride Of Tipperary Festival 2013 Handicap.
Smullen, successful in the first on Abbakova for Willie McCreery, was riding for his boss, Dermot Weld, on Johnny Lynch, and he gave the visored son of Oratorio a lovely waiting ride.
A nice split down the inner emerged for the 5/2 market-leader from the furlong pole. The Mrs Noeleen McCreevy owned and bred three-year-old quickened nicely when required to see off his main market rival, Sylvan Mist by a neck.
"I had a big concern about the ground for him. He got a lovely run down the inside though and it worked out perfectly for him.
"I'm not sure where he'll go next but he sprints very well," summarised Smullen.
Fourth home, Tylery Wonder was short of room inside the last but there was no alteration following a steward's enquiry. (TW & EM)
