Prominent-racer Shean Glory stayed on well to post a victory in the second split of the 80-95 handicap hurdle in Limerick.
She was at the head of affairs and kept wide under Phillip Enright entering the home straight. Mezyan came through to challenge her at the second last but his progress was halted with a mistake.
Shean Glory increased the advantage before the last and powered home on the run-in to win by three and a quarter lengths at 15/2.
Mezyan, who was available at 33/1 in the morning had to settle for second at 6/1. He was six and a half lengths clear of Lightning Star (16/1).
Trainer Sean Aherne said: "She deserved that as she had been there or thereabouts in the past. In fairness to Phillip, he said I left her short (fitness-wise) the last day and said she'd improve a lot. He said he'd fancy her the next day so he was fairly accurate.
"We'll tip away on safe ground and you'd hope she'll win another one."
This was Shean Glory's breakthrough victory on her 19th start.
