Shaimaa Takes Career Total to Six
Nobody has ever doubted the talent of the mare, Shaimaa and the daughter of Fantastic Light followed-up a Leopardstown success from twenty six days ago when taking her career score to six (a bumper, four flat races and a hurdle) in the Boylesports.com Handicap.
Martin Harley rode the six-year-old, equipped with cheek-pieces, to her second win over Dundalk's extended mile and a quarter, beating off the challenge of Monteriggioni who delivered his run on the outside, by a neck.
John 'Shark' Hanlon trains the 11/2 shot for Mrs Tony Durkan and he said: "Martin got there a bit too soon on her but there was nothing he could do. She could now go for a Group 3 in a fortnight's time (the Blue Wind Stakes in Naas) and good ground is the key to her. She'll go back hurdling at some stage too and she'll be in Galway please God."
