Scooping does it again at Leopardstown

Scooping ran out a comfortable winner of the Leopardstown Club Members 3yo Handicap as she made all to score under Tom Madden for trainer Eamonn Delany.
The daughter of Dylan Thomas obviously enjoys her trips to Foxrock as she recorded her only other success here over the same trip on heavy ground in April with Madden also aboard.
She failed to make the frame on four starts since, finishing behind Punta Marroqui on her last start at Tramore, and she was sent off a 10/1 chance this evening after opening on-course at 8's.
Drawn on the wide outside in stall fourteen she went straight into the lead and tacked across to the rail.
Her advantage was reduced approaching the straight but once ridden under two furlongs out she responded effectively, keeping on well inside the final furlong to hold off the challenge of Panama Hat by a length and a quarter.
Colin Keane rode Panama Hat for Andy Oliver and he was returned at 25/1, while the 3/1 favourite (opened 4/1 on-course) Punta Marroqui, also for Oliver, finished a further two and three parts of a length back in third under Chris Hayes.
Eamonn Delany said afterwards: "She's a gutsy little thing. She likes a little cut and we wouldn't have run if it was firm. She obviously likes Leopardstown too as that's two runs and two wins.
"Tom gave her a great ride and seems to get on well with her. She'll more than likely have a little holiday now as she's been on the go since Christmas."
