Rock takes Gowran opener
Steele’s Rock made it sixth time lucky as he finally broke his duck to win the Spring Team Classic Final 2011 at Gowran Park maiden hurdle.
The well supported Evens favourite made most of running, was in control between the last two flights and kept going well up the straight to score by a comfortable 3 lengths at the finish under Tom Doyle. Sizing Symphony ran a nice race to finish second for the Champion Chase winning team of Henry De Bromhead, Andrew Lynch and Ann & Alan Potts at 8/1 with a further 5 ½ lengths back to Eirland
The King’s Theatre gelding is owned by the Enyaboyu Syndicate from Ennis, Co Clare.
