Ridge digs deep for Lee
Belle's Ridge recorded his third career win when staying on gamely under pressure for Billy Lee to land the featured nine and a half furlongs handicap at Gowran Park.
The 9/4 favourite was patiently ridden to challenge in the straight, and got on top in the closing stages to beat Sciatin by a neck with Toufan Express a length and a quarter further back in third.
Successful trainer Tim Doyle said, 'He's a smashing horse. There's a big handicap (Stillorgan Handicap - 9f) at Leopardstown next Thursday, and he may go there if he's in good form.'
Doyle added, 'He was a bit disappointing at Galway last year but we may have to think about it as the money is tempting.'
