Mark Molloy's Quiet Escape took some good scalps in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mucklemeg Mares INH Flat Race at Gowran Park.

Jamie Codd rode a waiting race on the Getaway mare who was in rear until making her move on the outer off the home bend.

She swept through to lead inside the final quarter of a mile and stormed clear in the final furlong.

She came in by a handy three and a half lengths at 16/1. Hi Stranger couldn't land a glove on the winner in second at 3/1. Flemencello the 5/2, favourite, looked to be moving ominously well but was outgunned in third.

Molloy said: “She’s always been a lovely mare so its nice to see it come to fruition.

“Once the ground was nice I was happy as I was worried it might have gone a bit dead today. She’ll be put away now for next summer.

“She’s from a good pacey family and she has loads of toe. Its just a matter of keeping her sweet and being able to use that pace.

“We only have the two (Farrawaybay won over hurdles at Galway last month) and a few point-to-pointers for the autumn and next spring.

“Her owner John Wade is in America but is a Galway man originally.”

Quiet Escape was last seen winning a bumper in Downpatrick at the end of August.
