Prendergast doubles up with Crystal

Kevin Prendergast notched a quick double at the Curragh when Crystal Gal got up close home to land the Bollinger Champagne EBF Maiden.

Declan McDonogh was again in the plate as the well-touted Galileo filly caught Free Judgement late on for a head victory.

"She's a smart filly - she goes well at home," said Prendergast.

"They went very steady and she got into a bit of trouble but she has a little bit of zip to get her out of trouble.

"If she comes out of this alright she'll come back here for the Goffs Million (September 27th)."

The winner was given a quote of 14/1 for next year's 1,000 Guineas by Boylesports.
