Nolan brings great form on to home soil

"A third bumper winner in twenty four hours for Paul Nolan," said commentator Peter O'Hehir as he called home Presavita and Michael Doran, comfortable scorers in the finale at Wexford, the Borro Mares INH Flat Race.
Like the Downpatrick winner from last night, Solita (ridden by 'Bon' O'Neill), Presavita was bred by Robert Hennelly and this one, owned by Martin O'Sullivan, is out of that good racemare, Savitha (successful at Wexford too in her day).
Doran made all on Oneforlill at Cork last evening but he could afford to be more patient on this 2/1 favourite, promising on her debut when fourth here 29 days back.
He brought Presavita with her run around the outer in the final half mile. She was ridden out in the final furlong to account for Havana Dancer by an authoritative five lengths.
James Nolan, representing his brother Paul, reflected: "We thought she was a good filly coming here the last day, and the plan was that if she won that she'd be going out.
"The plan wasn't that she would still be in training in the month of May. When she got beaten the last day Barry O'Neill came in and said nothing beat her only the lack of a run.
"We'd have won plenty of bumpers here down through the years and one thing you would find is that a run means a lot.
"That run for her has just made the difference this evening, we think she is a good filly and I presume now that she will be put away and come back for the autumn.
"Whether she goes for a winners bumper or a maiden hurdle I don't know, we will decide in time, I just hope that she's okay after today.
"I'd say when she gets stronger she will have no problem handling softer. She is probably just a bit weak to me, and we won't risk her on anything better than that either." (DM & EM)
