The free-running Beach Bar built up a healthy advantage through the opening couple of furlongs and he was soon gone beyond recall in the Print Express Handicap at Dundalk.
Though the pack did close in the straight, they never really looked like bridging the gap.
In the end the Wayne Lordan ridden 10/1 shot kept on well to account for strongly backed favourite Jon Ess (2/1 into 13/8) by a length and a half.
Successful trainer Richard O'Brien: "He was inclined to pull too hard his last few times here so Wayne felt it might not be a bad idea to make it. It looked like he half bolted for a while but Wayne said he was quite comfortable in his hands and I'm thrilled with him to be honest.
"He used to make the running before and then we held him up and he won a few. That was a step forward and I think he'll go for the Lincoln as he handles a bit of a cut in the ground.
"He's not an easy horse to give a break to because he's no fun at home. He's difficult and what you see there is what he does everyday at home. If you gave him a break and had to get him fit again your creating work for both of us. He's a big robust devil.
"The Lincoln is four weeks on Sunday so we might get away with giving him a couple of quiet weeks and going there next."
