Native too strong for Beauty
Inch Native outstayed Ballymac Beauty to claim the mares beginners chase at Listowel.
Shane Byrne worked his way into contention turning for home on the Supreme Leader mare and she challenged 9/10 favourite Ballymac Beauty at the second last.
Denis Murphy's charge got to the front at the final fence and kept on well on the run-in to score by three-and-a-half lengths from the hotpot.
The winner is owned by the jockey's father Aidan. It was the first winner 'on the track' for the 22-year-old jockey.
"She's a dual point-to-point winner but has had leg problems. We quietly fancied her," said Murphy.
"The way the race panned out Shane gave her a great ride as the horses came back to him. He's well able to ride."
