The John Ryan trained Kylecrue recorded his fourth win of the year as he took the feature at Listowel, the Kerry Group Handicap Chase.
A winner of three handicap hurdles over the last few months the eight-year-old son of Gold Well was sent off a 5/1 chance on his first start over fences since May.
Sent straight to the front by Danny Mullins he was joined by Rogue Angel before five out and dropped to second after the next.
He regained the lead after two out and was ridden. He wasn't fluent at the last and gave Rogue Angel another chance however he pulled out more on the run-in and came home a length and a quarter to the good.
Rogue Angel, who was returned the 11/4 favourite, had to settle for second under Bryan Cooper for Mouse Morris while Harangue was forty-three lengths back in third under Andrew Lynch for Paul Gilligan.
John Ryan said afterwards: "He's good and tough and is a brilliant jumper.
"Danny was absolutely brilliant on him & David Mullins (cousin of Danny) rode him the last few times but might have a job getting back on him after that! He'll run in the Munster National next."
