The Kevin Prendergast-trained Moghamarah justified favourtism in fine style in the opener at Gowran Park this afternoon.
The Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned filly was sent to post the 7/4 market leader for the mile contest having finished runner-up on her two previous starts.
Chris Hayes tracked the leaders on the daughter of Dawn Approaching before sending his mount to the front with over two furlongs to run.
Moghamarah powered clear before the furlong marker and ran on strongly in the closing stages to record a six-and-a-half length success over Raynama
“She won well. She was a bit unlucky Galway as she was drawn very wide and got knocked about a good bit, she probably should have won,” said Prendergast.
“I'll see what the boss says but I don't think we'll run her anymore (this year). We'll keep her and probably run her in the Guineas trial at Leopardstown or something like that.”
