The Peter Fahey-trained Missguided bounced back to form to claim the Down Royal Handicap over ten furlongs.
Leigh Roche got a run up the rail to lead a a furlong-and-a-half from home and she kept on well in the closing stages. Pirolo ran on to take the runner-up spot but could only get within three-parts-of-a-length of the 4/1 winner.
Missguided had made little impression at Naas on Tuesday when sent off 7/2 favourite and Roche said:-
“You'd have to draw a line through her run the other day and she ran below par.
“Before that in Fairyhouse she was very unlucky as she got tight for room a furlong down and came home very well.
“Today she travelled very well, got a nice run down the rail in the straight and hit the line well.
“If you get stuck wide around here you are losing five or six lengths on the bend the whole time. So if you can get a run up the rail it is an advantage.”
