Peaches And Cream powered home on the run-in to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown for the second year running for Gavin Cromwell and Conor McNamara.
The 7lb claimer got a good tune from the four-year-old on the run-in to storm to the lead and despite misjudging where the line was his mount had plenty left to secure a half length win over Millen To One
The winner had attracted some support, returning 12/1 having been as big as 25/1 this morning.
“We won this race last year and it was Conor's first winner for me,” said Cromwell.
“I actually fancied the other fella more (sixth placed Flooring Porter but it's great.
“He's just been progressive. He's a good hardy horse who has taken racing well and he'll jump a fence in time as well.
“I thought he might need further on the ground, as he stays very well.”
