Owner J.P. McManus registered his seventh win in the last 48 hours when his Colour Squadron belatedly got off the mark over fences, for new trainer Enda Bolger in the International Hotel Beginners Chase at Killarney today.
The son of Old Vic began his chase career back in 2012 and while placed on nine of his previous 13 chase starts, was finally breaking his duck today when making all under Barry Geraghty.
The win was completing a good 48 hours for McManus' horses, and having had three winners at Kilbeggan, two and Bangor and one at Killarney yesterday, added his seventh with Colour Squadron.
Winning trainer Enda Bolger later stated "he's a nice horse to have and I was keen to get him to the front and let him look at his fences. We'll tip away with him now and while he might have an entry in the Kerry National, he'll probably aim for a novice chase, at Listowel."
He added "his jumping used to let him down but he now has his eye in over banks and that was a nice confidence booster."
