Hasselnott (5/1) in first-time blinkers made a winning debut for Anthony McCann, as the Monaghan handler saddled a 1-2 in the Bruce Betting Download The App Handicap at Dundalk.
Sean Davis, based with Richard Fahey now and back on a flying visit, partnered Hasselnott, claimed out of Denis Hogan’s yard a fortnight back.
He joined owner James McAuley and trainer McCann for 7,000 Euros after a second placing to Yuften last time.
On this occasion the winning-most horse at Dundalk and stable companion of Hasselnott, Togoville gave the winner most to do, but eventually two lengths split them.
“All I did was freshen him up. Denis Hogan and the boys had him right for the last night,” said McCann.
“We thought he was in with a big shout. We knew we were probably stretching Togoville a little bit but he ran a blinder too and we're very very happy with him.”
C.P. Hoban, rider of Fashaar (GB) trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount moved badly in the straight.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fashaar (GB), trained by Anthony McCann, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
