Mantell makes it two for Walsh
Mantell who scored on his debut over five years ago on a firm surface at Clonmel, can handle deep ground too and half an hour after the success of Belord the nine-year-old brought up a double for the John Joe Walsh yard by landing the Britain V Ireland Ladies Challenge Handicap Hurdle under Alex Dunn.
British rider Dunn got the better of her compatriot Lorna Brooke on Brave Heart at the last and the victorious son of Shernazar stayed on well on the run-in to score by four and a half lengths.
Walsh said: "Alex gave the horse a brilliant ride, she did exactly as she was told by sitting in and waiting."
Dunn previously worked for Jessica Harrington and this was her first ride in Ireland. The Worcester-native has five wins to her credit on the racecourse proper and nine 'between the flags.' She has her own point-to-point yard.
