Lady Savanah came home strongly to win the apprentice handicap over a mile at the Curragh in the hands of Dylan Browne McMonagle.
The six-year-old mare had no less than five horses to pass when making her move approaching the final furlong.
She engaged top gear in the final 100 yards to cut them down in the closing stages.
The 4/1 chance moved a length and three parts clear at the line. Everyhouronthehour (6/1) held the lead inside the final furlong but was collared to finish second. He pipped Amarantha (17/2) by a nose.
Tom McCourt said: “She’s been consistent all year and it’s nice to get her head in front again.
"It didn’t look likely for a lot of the race today. She didn’t travel great but she has plenty of ability when things fall right for her.
“We were lucky to get Dylan in a race like that and he gave her a very good ride.
“She’s very versatile ground wise so we’ll find something for her again.”
