The first division of the Ire Wel Pallets Ltd Handicap Steeplechase was won by Lady McCabe (5/1) who fairly skated in under Darragh O’Keeffe.
The daughter of Yeats, a hurdles winner at Gowran a couple of years ago, was in the front rank from flagfall and left her rivals for dead on the run to the second-last fence. She scored by eleven lengths from Krisquin with Trickey Trix another five and a half lengths away in third.
Trained in Killeagh, Co Cork by Martin Fitzgerald, who also owns her, the ten-year-old mare was well supported off course this morning having been available at 16/1 overnight.
It was a 58th winner of the season for O’Keeffe who is third in the jockeys' standings.
