Form horse Killer Mode (10/3) landed the BetVictor Proud To Support Irish Racing Flat Race in the hands of Harry Swan.
Runner-up to the high-class Kilcruit on debut last term and also second on his reappearance at Navan earlier in the month, the Doyen gelding chased the leaders and appeared to be going best from early in the straight.
He was sent for home passing the furlong marker but had to be kept up to his work by 7lb claimer Swan to see off Nonbinding (7/2) by half a length. Outsider Silver King (80/1) finished two and three parts of a length back in third just ahead of the 13/8 favourite Sir Argus
Winning trainer Noel Meade said: “I'm delighted to see him win because that was his last shot at one, it's nice to win a bumper.
“He ran into a couple of good horses and he didn't run his race at Leopardstown (last Christmas).
“He'll go jumping now, we'll wait until after Christmas and give him a bit of time. He's well schooled and knows how to jump.
“Harry gave him a good ride, he's well-bred for the job!”
