Karasiyra off the mark in Leopardstown opener
Karasiyra from the John Oxx stable justified her short-price when taking the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown this afternoon.
Mick Kinane sent the 10/11 favourite to the front from over two furlongs out and kept on well to hold off the challenge of Remember When by a neck.
Jim O’Neill assistant to John Oxx said afterwards: “She was a bit unlucky the first time she ran. She’s a filly that only does just enough.”
“She’d appreciate a bit of better ground and we’ll probably step her up to ten furlongs next year.”
