Short-priced favourite Wise Oscar's late defection from the Happy Valentine's Day Handicap Chase, owing to the ground, opened things up. Jolily was the one to make the most of the opportunity, prevailing in good style under Andrew Lynch for Tim Doyle at Thurles.
The Supreme Leader gelding, a course and distance winner here in 2011, led before three out and he was clear from the next on the way to a comfortable five and a half length win from Kakagh
Doyle explained: "He ran a great race in Leopardstown the last day. He came up against a good horse (subsequent Thyestes runner-up, Tarquinius) there.
"He loves it around here. He jumps well and Andrew said for a big horse he's very agile.
"He's an eleven-year-old but he has very little mileage on the clock." (AM & EM)
