What a wonderful mare La Noire has been for Gerard McGrath. Another of her sons, Jett shed his maiden tag on attempt number five when taking to hurdles like a duck to water in the TRI Equestrian Superstore & Cafe Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown.
La Noire has also produced 2014 Champion Hurdler Jezki, Grade 1 winner Jetson, Grade 2 victor Jenari, along with Jett and another victor at the highest level in Jered.
Nine to one chance Jett (mistake four out), with Robbie Power up for Jessica Harrington, headed favourite Potters Point from before the last. He then held the staying on but one-paced Space Cadet by a length and a half.
