Lily The Lioness has been keeping the name of Kilkenny trainer Garrett Power up in lights in recent times and Curragh Golan did his bit for the Windgap handler in the McWilliam Park Hotel Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe. The win also credited Paul Townend with a double after his earlier victory on Tom Mullins' Grand Partner
The top-weight didn't go unsupported (11s into 8s) and he got the better of a protracted tussle with Supreme Vic by a neck.
Power divulged: "It was on Paul's advice that we came to Ballinrobe and the bit of an ease in the ground helped him as well.
"Paul gave him a super ride.
"Last week (pulled up at Killarney) he missed out on one down the back and he kind of rushed him back into it again and he missed the next one again.
"He did the right thing by going a stride and pulling him up. He said he was a little bit lame but he was fine afterwards." (DM & EM)
