I’m So Fancy recorded her second Listed win at the Curragh this month when taking the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Celebration Stakes.
The daughter of Rajj landed the McDonnell’s Bar June Fest Silver Stakes in great style over a mile and a quarter three weeks ago, and was sent off the 5/2 joint favourite here dropping back to a mile.
St Patrick rsquo;s Day, brother of American triple crown hero American Pharoah, was delivered with what looked a strong challenge in the straight but I’m So Fancy proved strongest at the business end.
Colm O’Donoghue’s mount had half a length to spare over the always prominent Allegio with St Patrick’s Day a neck further away in third.
Winning trainer Jessica Harrington said, “She won very well here the last time and I was taking a little bit of a chance dropping her back to a mile. She had been running very well over a mile last year.
“They went very hard up front which suited her. She’s improving all the time and aged four she’s come to life.
“She’s in the Group 2 Kilboy (Estate) Stakes here (on July 22) over a mile and a quarter so we’ll see how she comes out of this.”
