- Hogan's Spirit benefits from Dundalk stay
Hogan's Spirit benefits from Dundalk stay
The concluding Ladbrokes Cheltenham Bumper Series Bumper at Thurles today was won impressively by the Tom Hogan trained newcomer Shannon Spirit under Pauline Ryan.
The son of Snurge moved through to lead before the straight, before eventually running on well when challenged over a furlong out, recording a seven lengths win over Crannaghmore Mist
Afterwards Hogan reported “I was a bit worried about the ground today but he did it well. He's a brother to Man On The Nile and while I've no plans for him, he is a nice prospect going forward.”
The Co Tipperary trainer added "Shannon Spirit was one of seven horses I stabled at Dundalk racecourse during the cold spell and I'd like to thank Jim Martin, manager of Dundalk Stadium for the use of the track."
