Denis Hogan completed a Dundalk double today as the trainer's Jaafel (15/2), under jockey Joey Sheridan, registered consecutive wins in Join On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Handicap.
The Playground Syndicate-owned son of Dark Angel was a winner previously on November 18 and today followed up when arriving from rear-division to eventually defeat Skontonovski by three lengths.
Hogan was earlier successful with claimer winner Royal Tribute and following Jaafel's success, Sheridan said “in fairness to Dan King, he gave him a peach the last day and got his confidence up. That often turns horses inside out and you saw it there.
"Denis (Hogan) said to me to ride him with loads of confidence and he won how he liked, to be honest.
"He's a grand horse and he always worked well, I think it was more confidence with him than anything else. You'd be happy with him after that going forward.
"I've only ever ridden him once, in Clonmel and he didn't finish out at all, but riding him that way (from off the pace) and winning the last day all helps."
