Ask Delaney (12s into 10/1 before the off) ran out a wide-margin winner of the Treo Eile, Retraining Ireland's Racehorses Handicap.
Conor Hoban bided his time on the 5-year-old grey, whose only previous success had come at Tipperary last term, before asking for more after the turn into the home straight.
Picking up well to lead over a furlong out, Ask Delaney stretched right away to beat Born Invincible by six and a half lengths.
Winning trainer Austin Leahy, based in Kilmallock, said: “He was going so well at home, I couldn't see him getting beaten! We had a bit of a worry with the ground but he obviously likes it.
"We were riding him half-handy but today he (Hoban) changed tactics and took his time. Hopefully he'll run again before the end of the season."
