Hoban expertly guides the Coach home at Dundalk
Conor Hoban - good on Coach Bombay

There was money for plenty in the concluding thetote.com Handicap with favourite Peggarty (at least 11/2 this morning into 2/1) disappointing but Coach Bombay has his supporters too (at least 10s this morning into 5s) and he got a great run down the inside to score under Conor Hoban at Dundalk. Surf's Up set a strong gallop but not surprisingly she had no more to offer in the straight as many emerged with chances. However it was Coach Bombay who saw out the extended mile and a quarter trip strongest, prevailing by three parts of a length from Time Travel
Coach Bombay's dam, Molly-O was a listed scorer back in 2000 for Sean Dalton and Mick Halford, also the winning owner/trainer and breeder in this case.
Halford was an absentee – in Dubai – so it was left to Dalton (from Longford) to remark: "We ran him over a mile and thought he might need further.
"He ran well in a schooling race here a couple of months ago and was then injured. Conor gave him a great ride as he had to hold him up and come from behind." (MG & EM)
